WASHINGTON (Legal Newsline)-Sen. Hillary Clinton has said she has no interest in sitting on the U.S. Supreme Court.
In an appearance on the Fox News Channel, the New York senator said on a scale of one to 10, her chances of becoming a Supreme Court justice or Senate majority leader are slim.
"Oh, probably zero," Clinton said. "I'm not seeking any other position than to be the best senator from New York that I can be."
As for being nominated to the Supreme Court, Clinton said Tuesday she has "no interest in doing that."
When asked about whether she will mount another run for president, Clinton said that too is remote.
"There's an old saying: Bloom where you're planted," she said.
The former first lady was elected to the Senate in 2000 and re-elected in 2006. She ran in this year's protracted Democratic presidential primary, which Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., won.
The Washington Times reported Tuesday that some of Clinton's supporters want Obama to appoint Clinton to the high court if he is elected.
"Having her on the Supreme Court would help us a lot. She could make sure we cement Roe v. Wade," said Judi Woods, one of Clinton's Little Rock supporters who campaigned for her across the country during the primary race.
