LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Legal Newsline)-Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, after campaigning doggedly for Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, said Tuesday that it's clear that rival Barack Obama will be the party's nominee.

McDaniel, chairman of the New York senator's Arkansas campaign, told The Associated Press that he has been given no word by the Clinton campaign that she will exit the race today, after the primary contests in Montana and South Dakota.

"I think it's clear that Senator Obama will be our nominee, but it's also important that Senator Clinton knows that I as one of her national co-chairs. ... (am) with her until the last dog dies," McDaniel was quoted as saying.

Clinton, who was first lady of Arkansas for 12 years, handily won the Natural State's Feb. 5 presidential primary with 70 percent of the vote. Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, won 26 percent of the vote.

Clinton is supported by 11 of the 12 state's superdelegates, who are elected officials and party leaders.
