NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - Class action lawyers are citing a recent Consumer Reports study that found heavy metals in Lunchables in a new lawsuit.

Laura LaSpisa filed a class action lawsuit  April 15 in New York federal court against Kraft Heinz Foods Company. It alleges that the company's pre-packaged meal kits, sold under the brand name "Lunchables," contain levels of heavy metals that are unsafe for consumption.

The allegations are based on a recent investigation by Consumer Reports that found high levels of lead and cadmium, as well as phthalates, in Lunchables products.

LaSpisa is represented by Jeffrey Carton of Denlea & Carton LLP. She claims that she and other consumers trusted Lunchables to be safe and nutritious for their children, but have now discarded or will discard these products due to their contamination, rendering their purchases worthless.
