WASHINGTON (Legal Newsline) -- Philip Alito, son of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, reportedly has been hired by law firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times reported the news Wednesday.
Thomas Dupree Jr., hiring partner at the firm's Washington D.C. office, described the justice's son as "smart, talented and hard-working," noting his "impressive" credentials.
"We are delighted that he has chosen to begin his career with Gibson Dunn and look forward to welcoming him this fall," Dupree told BLT.
Philip Alito has spent the last year clerking for Judge Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
He is one of Samuel Alito's children. The justice and his wife Martha-Ann also have a daughter, Laura.
Samuel Alito has served on the nation's highest court since 2006.
According to BLT, Eugene Scalia, son of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, also works for Gibson Dunn.
