Mo. AG settles with Camden Co. businesses over wastewater lagoon

Koster

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Legal Newsline) - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced a settlement Monday with multiple Camden County businesses to resolve allegations of the unpermitted operation and use of a wastewater lagoon.

Under the terms of a consent judgment with Cantina Tres Hombres LLC, Glory Hole Inc., Tupelo Honey's LLC and Larry Murdock, the defendants agreed to complete the construction of a wastewater treatment facility that is approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources or connect to an existing, permitted wastewater treatment facility.

Murdock and the other defendants allegedly used the unpermitted wastewater lagoon for certain businesses in the Camdenton-based Greenview Shopping Center.

As part of the agreement, the defendants will close the existing slough and pay the state a civil penalty of $15,866.

"My office will continue to work hard to protect the waters of this state," Koster said. "I am pleased we were able to come to a suitable agreement in this case."
