University of Virginia Patent Foundation sues over nonpayment under license agreement

A university's patent foundation is suing a Pittsburg company for patent infringement.

The University of Virginia Patent Foundation ( UYAPF) filed the lawsuit March 27 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, Charlottesville Division against DynaVox Systems, LLC alleging breach of contract.

According to the lawsuit, DynaVox is being sued for its "failure to pay royalties for patent and other intellectual property obtained from UVAPF under a license agreement."

The foundation seeks undisclosed damages, plus interest and costs.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney C. Conner Crook of Charlottesville.
