B & D Adult Daycare, LLC will pay a settlement to Missouri’s Medicaid program after the company allegedly billed for services that weren’t provided, Attorney General Chris Koster said on Friday.
The daycare will pay $29,000 in damages, restitution and investigation costs to the Medicaid program of Missouri, in addition to providing better oversight for its Medicaid program. The daycare is owned by Bryan Sanders Sr., of St. Louis County. The money will go into the MO HealthNet Fraud Reimbursement Fund.
The attorney general's Medicaid Fraud Control Division alleged that from January 2011 to April 2013 the daycare billed for services that were never given to patients, who allegedly were either not at the daycare or were receiving personal care at home.
"One of my top priorities as attorney general is to enforce our laws against those who cheat Missouri taxpayers by committing Medicaid fraud," Koster said. "We will continue to search for individuals who would perpetrate this kind of fraud and recover public money stolen from our health care system."
Koster reminded Missouri residents to report suspected Medicaid fraud to his office by calling 800-286-3932, emailing attorney.general@ago.mo.gov or filing a complaint online at ago.mo.gov.
