Chicago man sentenced to life for decades-old homicide
LANSING – Today, Isiah Williams, 77, of Chicago, was sentenced by the Hon. Patrick Conlin of the 22nd Circuit Court in Washtenaw County to spend the rest of his life incarcerated without the possibility of parole, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Williams was found guilty of one count of first-degree murder, including theories of premeditated and felony murder, by a Washtenaw County jury in connection to the 1982 disappearance and presumed death of his then 8-month-old infant daughter Olisa Williams. -

Fruitport man found guilty of making threats against courts
LANSING – A Kent County jury in the 17th Circuit Court has found Daniel Callahan, 60, of Fruitport, guilty on charges of False Report or Threat of Terrorism and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. Michigan PSC cuts Indiana Michigan Power's proposed electric rate hike by half
Earlier this week, the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) approved only 50% of the electric rate increase requested by Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M), reducing the hike by more than $16 million following intervening testimony from Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Last fall, the company filed a request for a $34 million rate increase or 9.9% hike for residential customers. Man pleads guilty to first-degree murder of two-year-old girl
Rashad Maleek Trice, 27, of Lansing, pled guilty today in the 30th Judicial Circuit Court in Ingham County to one count each of First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for the 2023 murder of 2-year-old Wynter Cole-Smith and the violent assault of her mother, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Detroit man convicted for fatal ambush during social media marketplace transaction
On Friday, a Wayne County jury in the 3rd Circuit Court convicted Davontae Eshawn Long, 31, of Detroit, on all counts for a 2021 murder. LANSING – Alexzonder Rodriguez, 34, of Detroit, was sentenced today to 36 months to 10 years’ incarceration for sex trafficking numerous women in Detroit, Kimball, and Port Huron.
