Attorney General expands Gang Prosecution Unit to Southeast Georgia
Attorney General Chris Carr announced the expansion of his Gang Prosecution Unit to Southeast Georgia. Assistant Attorney General Brooklyn Franklin and Criminal Investigator Pete Delatorre will oversee the unit's regional efforts, effective July 1, 2024. The expansion is funded by the state’s FY 2025 budget, signed by Governor Brian Kemp in May.

A Providence man has been found guilty in Providence County Superior Court for shooting and seriously injuring 42-year-old Junior Rafael Pena Soto following an altercation at an Elmwood Avenue restaurant in Providence. Mount Pleasant man arrested on child sexual abuse material charges
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Nathaniel Scott Raasch, 26, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., on six charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Mount Pleasant Police Department made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General's Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and Charleston County Sheriff's Office, all members of the state's ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation.
