Attorney General Dave Sunday has announced the seizure of over 400 illegal gambling devices from various establishments in western Pennsylvania. This operation also led to charges against two companies, Buffalo Skills Games, Inc. and J.J. Amusement, Inc., which are linked to John F. Conley, a figure with previous federal convictions for illegal gambling.
The Office of Attorney General has filed felony corrupt organizations charges against these companies. The seizures took place in March across several counties including Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Crawford, Indiana, Somerset, Venango, Erie, Washington, Armstrong, and Westmoreland. These efforts were supported by the Pennsylvania State Police.
“These devices were essentially slot machines dressed up as skill games,” said Attorney General Sunday. He acknowledged the collaboration with the Pennsylvania State Police in dismantling what he described as a "large-scale operation" that generated significant illegal profits.
The case is under prosecution by the Office of Attorney General’s Gaming Enforcement Section. It is important to note that criminal charges are allegations at this stage and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
