U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Donta Williams, a 30-year-old resident of Buffalo, New York, has pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The charge comes with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and could lead to life imprisonment along with a fine up to $250,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey E. Intravatola, who is overseeing the case, detailed that on November 13, 2024, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Comstock Avenue linked to Williams' drug trafficking operations. The search led to the seizure of $1,030 in cash, a receipt for a Rolex sold to "Donta Williams," as well as various items including a Glock pistol and ammunition, jewelry, crack cocaine and fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search on the same day at a UHAUL unit controlled by Williams resulted in the discovery of $29,627 in cash and a loaded magazine.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia's direction and the Buffalo Police Department led by Commissioner Alfonse Wright.
Williams is scheduled for sentencing on September 18, 2025 before Judge Richard J. Arcara.
