A Guatemalan man, Juan Manuel Secaida, has pleaded guilty in a federal court to the charge of illegal reentry into the United States. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced that Secaida was sentenced to time served by Chief United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak.

Secaida, aged 35, was initially arrested by the Coraopolis Police Department and faced charges of harassment, stalking, and criminal trespass. These charges are still pending. Immigration officials discovered his illegal status in the U.S., leading to his arrest on April 1, 2025. He had been previously removed from the country in January 2020 after being convicted for two separate instances of driving under the influence in Maryland state court and had not obtained permission to reenter.

Following his arrest for illegal reentry, Secaida has remained in federal custody and will be returned to immigration authorities.

Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher prosecuted the case. Acting United States Attorney Rivetti acknowledged U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations along with the Coraopolis Police Department for their role in this successful prosecution.

This legal action is part of Operation Take Back America, a national initiative aimed at dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations while combating illegal immigration and protecting communities from violent crime perpetrators.
