Alex Davon Hardimon, a 32-year-old resident of Oklahoma City, has been sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for illegal possession of ammunition following a previous felony conviction. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

The case stems from an incident on July 22, 2024, when officers from the Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) responded to a shooting report. A victim reported that a man shot at his vehicle while he was driving on Southwest 32nd Street. The suspect's description matched Hardimon. Later, another call led officers to an assault victim in the emergency room who claimed Hardimon attacked her at a club and later assaulted her at home with a rifle.

Following these incidents, OCPD arrested Hardimon during a traffic stop where two rounds of live ammunition were found in his pocket. Subsequently, on August 20, 2024, he was charged by a federal Grand Jury for being a felon in possession of ammunition.

Hardimon pleaded guilty to the indictment on November 19, 2024. At his sentencing hearing on April 30, 2025, U.S. District Judge Patrick R. Wyrick emphasized Hardimon’s extensive criminal record and stated that he had not learned from past experiences within the state criminal justice system.

Hardimon's previous convictions include joyriding and driving-related offenses in Logan County District Court case number CF-2011-172 and robbery and property damage-related offenses in Oklahoma County District Court case number CF-2012-653.

This case resulted from an investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and OCPD with Assistant U.S. Attorney David Nichols Jr. prosecuting it. It is part of "Operation 922" and "Operation Shots Fired," initiatives under Project Safe Neighborhoods aimed at reducing gun violence and enforcing federal firearms laws.
