Andy Wayne Alexander, a 48-year-old resident of Pauls Valley, has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for wire fraud. This was announced by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
Alexander faced charges on December 19, 2024, related to wire fraud activities conducted between July 2020 and May 2022. He utilized Facebook Marketplace to advertise classic cars for sale that he did not own or possess at the time of posting. According to the charges, at least seven buyers transferred approximately $290,925 into an account controlled by Alexander for vehicles they never received. Despite his reassurances, the funds were not refunded. One victim from New Zealand traveled to Oklahoma only to find that Alexander did not have the vehicle he claimed to sell.
On January 13, 2025, Alexander pleaded guilty and admitted responsibility for causing "a number of people" to send him money via wire transfer for undelivered vehicles without refunding them.
During a sentencing hearing on April 29, 2025, U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton imposed a sentence of 33 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release and ordered restitution payments totaling $303,620.00. Judge Heaton highlighted the seriousness of the offense during sentencing.
The FBI Oklahoma City Field Office conducted the investigation leading to this case's prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Danielle London and Cole McFerren.
