Alexander Summers, a 29-year-old resident of Sioux City, Iowa, has entered a guilty plea in federal court for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. The plea was submitted on May 8, 2025.
During the hearing, Summers acknowledged that he participated in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine over five months in 2023 within the Sioux City area. He confessed to distributing over 400 grams of pure methamphetamine to an individual cooperating with law enforcement. Additionally, Summers admitted to trafficking methamphetamine and aiding another person in exchange for housing.
Sentencing will be determined by United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand after the preparation of a presentence report. Summers is currently held by the United States Marshal while awaiting sentencing. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years' imprisonment and could receive up to life imprisonment, along with a $10 million fine and at least five years of supervised release following any prison term.
