A man from Fall River has admitted guilt in a federal court in Boston for his involvement in drug trafficking, specifically for shipping cocaine through the U.S. mail from California to Massachusetts.

Justin Dupras, aged 42, confessed to one count of attempting to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute. The sentencing is set by U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin for September 4, 2025. Dupras faced charges through a criminal complaint filed in January 2025.

Court documents reveal that on December 17, 2024, Dupras sent a package containing around two kilograms of cocaine from a Los Angeles post office to Fall River. Upon returning to Massachusetts on December 19, he went to the Fall River Post Office where another person signed for and handed him the package.

Dupras had previously mailed packages with cocaine from California to Massachusetts several times. On September 17, 2024, he sent over two kilograms of cocaine from Chino Hills to Fall River. Similarly, on October 29, he mailed about two kilograms of cocaine from Los Angeles to Fall River. Flight records indicate that Dupras returned to Massachusetts on the same days these packages were sent.

The charge against Dupras could result in up to 30 years in prison, lifetime supervised release, and a fine reaching $2 million. Sentencing decisions are made by a federal district court judge considering U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ketty Larco-Ward of the United States Postal Inspection Service's Boston Division. The Fall River Police Department provided valuable assistance in this case which is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Abely.
