A Guatemalan national, Juan Lorenzo-Lorenzo, was sentenced in Mobile, Alabama, for reentering the United States illegally after being deported twice before. According to court documents, Lorenzo-Lorenzo, 24, was arrested by the Robertsdale Police Department on February 16, 2025, for providing false information to a law enforcement officer. Following his arrest, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) confirmed that he had been removed from the United States in both 2020 and 2024.
Judge DuBose handed down a time-served sentence along with a one-year term of supervised release. Lorenzo-Lorenzo had been held in custody since his arrest. Upon release from prison, he will be referred to immigration officials for deportation proceedings and is required to pay $100 in special assessments.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama. The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Robertsdale Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kacey Chappelear prosecuted the case.
This sentencing is part of "Operation Take Back America," a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations to protect communities from violent crime perpetrators.
