Vincent Villarreal, a 35-year-old resident of Sachse, Texas, has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for wire fraud. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Jennifer P. Wilson on May 7, 2025. Villarreal is also required to pay restitution.

Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus reported that Villarreal admitted to embezzling around $475,000 from a building-products company based in central Pennsylvania during his employment in an information technology role. He conducted unauthorized transfers using his company credit card and tampered with the company's accounting system to erase records of these transactions. After being terminated from this position, Villarreal secured another IT job at a software company where he illicitly acquired over $470,000 worth of technology products for personal use.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation carried out the investigation into this case, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Carlo D. Marchioli.
