Jamie Greer Spies, a 24-year-old resident of Reading, Pennsylvania, has been arrested and charged with distributing child sexual abuse materials. The arrest took place on May 2, 2025, in Washington D.C.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr., alongside FBI Special Agent in Chief Sean Ryan from the Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber Division, and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Spies faces charges for the distribution of child pornography. Court documents reveal that an undercover officer associated with the MPD-FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force was monitoring an online group where individuals exchanged images and videos of underage children. Within this group, Spies reportedly communicated with the undercover officer expressing interest in materials depicting the sexual abuse of young children.
Subsequently, Spies distributed multiple images and videos showcasing such abuse, including those involving infants and toddlers. The investigation is being conducted by the MPD-FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, with support from the FBI’s Philadelphia Field Office and Allentown Resident Agency. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jocelyn Bond is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution falls under the Department of Justice's Project Safe Childhood initiative. Established in February 2006 by the Attorney General, Project Safe Childhood aims to protect children from online exploitation and abuse by coordinating federal, state, and local resources to apprehend offenders and rescue victims.
