Henry Rogers, a 65-year-old resident of Barboursville, has entered a guilty plea to charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The plea was made in Charleston, West Virginia.

The charges stem from an incident on February 17, 2023, when law enforcement officers stopped Rogers' vehicle on U.S. Route 19 in the Birch River area of Nicholas County. During the traffic stop, officers seized methamphetamine from Rogers. In his guilty plea, Rogers admitted to possessing this controlled substance and acknowledged that a subsequent search of his vehicle revealed additional methamphetamine and a .380-caliber pistol in the trunk.

Rogers is set to be sentenced on August 21, 2025. He faces up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a potential fine of $1 million.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the plea and praised the investigative efforts of the West Virginia State Police. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph under the supervision of United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston.
