A man from Hardin was sentenced to 24 months in prison for making threatening phone calls to the FBI, as announced by U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme. Glenn Gale Ware, 46, pleaded guilty in March 2024 to charges of placing harassing calls.

U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters delivered the sentence, which includes one year of supervised release following the prison term. The case revolved around Ware's communications with the FBI's Billings office in May 2022, where he made unfounded allegations against two FBI special agents. Ware claimed the agents were using satellite technology to transmit threatening messages to him and his family, reports the government in court documents.

Ware's charges escalated over time, revealing an increase in the frequency of his calls. Between June 19 and August 12, 2023, he left 29 voicemails at the FBI's Resident Agency Office in Billings. These calls, made from his personal phone and in which he identified himself, contained vulgar and threatening language directed towards a specific FBI Special Agent. Ware also falsely reported on the agent’s activities.

Ware confessed to the FBI on August 8, 2023, admitting to making the calls and leaving the voicemails. Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin Hargrove led the prosecution, with the FBI conducting the investigation.
