A Forest City man has entered a guilty plea in connection to a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Andrew Jay Frazee, 31, admitted in a federal court in Sioux City to one count of conspiring to distribute over a pound of methamphetamine.

During the plea hearing, Frazee confessed that, in November 2024, he and others planned to distribute the drug in and around Hancock County, Iowa. Evidence presented in court indicated that on November 19, 2024, law enforcement found Frazee and his vehicle in a ditch in Hancock County. Officers noted signs of impairment and detected the smell of marijuana upon approaching him. A subsequent search revealed approximately 325 grams of methamphetamine, a smoking device, baggies, more than $1,200 in cash, a scale, and marijuana. Frazee acknowledged that he had been acquiring large amounts of methamphetamine and distributing it to others.

The sentencing, which will be presided over by United States District Court Chief Judge Leonard T. Strand, is pending the preparation of a presentence report. Frazee remains in custody of the United States Marshal until the sentencing. He faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $10,000,000 fine, and at least five years of supervised release post-imprisonment.

The prosecution is being led by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick T. Greenwood. The investigation was conducted by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
