Andrew Clifford Meyer of Idaho Falls has been sentenced to 135 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, Acting U.S. Attorney Justin Whatcott has confirmed.

The sequence began on August 18, 2023, when law enforcement officers approached Meyer in the parking lot of the Fort Hall Casino following reports of an altercation. Observing fentanyl pills visible inside Meyer’s vehicle, the officers conducted a search of the car. This led to the discovery of approximately 12,000 fentanyl pills and a substantial amount of cash. Meyer admitted that the pills originated from Arizona and confessed to selling fentanyl.

Meyer entered a guilty plea to the charge of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl on September 19, 2024. Alongside the prison sentence, Chief U.S. District Judge David C. Nye mandated Meyer to complete an additional three years of supervised release after serving his time in prison.

Whatcott acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Fort Hall Police Department, and the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jack Haycock.
