Jesus Martinez-Garcia, 27, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced in federal court for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen. Martinez-Garcia received a 200-month prison sentence from United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher. A five-year term of supervised release will follow his imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system.
Martinez-Garcia was involved in a controlled drug transaction on March 11, 2020, where he sold a confidential informant 372 grams of lab-confirmed methamphetamine. During the transaction, he possessed three firearms.
The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Omaha Police Department carried out the investigation. This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling criminal organizations that present a threat to the United States. The approach is led by prosecutors and driven by intelligence and multiple agencies. Additional details about the OCDETF Program are accessible at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
