Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the sentencing of Sergio Lino Sandoval for multiple burglaries in Phoenix. An investigation by the Marana Police Department in 2024 uncovered Sandoval's involvement in a residential burglary and several burglaries at residential construction sites.
Attorney General Mayes stated, "My office will not tolerate criminals stealing from hardworking Arizonans or businesses," and expressed gratitude for the efforts of her team and the Marana Police Department in ensuring the case's resolution.
Sandoval was identified as a suspect after his vehicle was seen leaving a construction site on April 10, 2023. The Marana Police obtained a search warrant for Sandoval’s vehicle and two homes he was linked to. They found various stolen items, including tools, cabinets, and countertops, reported missing from construction sites between October 2022 and April 2023.
Further investigation revealed that Sandoval stole items from a home while employed as a contractor for the residents. On February 20, 2025, Sandoval pled guilty to one count of Theft Greater than $25,000, a Class Two Felony, and two counts of Theft greater than $4,000 and less than $25,000, each a Class Three Felony. He was sentenced on April 24, 2025, to four years in prison with seven years of probation to follow and must pay over $21,000 in restitution.
