On April 29, 2025, U.S. District Court Judge William H. Steele sentenced Isaiah Lorenzo Bess to 33 months in prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Court documents indicate Bess, 28, conspired with others to distribute fentanyl pills in the Mobile area from July 2023 to December 2023. Bess was indicted on the charge and entered a guilty plea. Along with his prison sentence, Bess received a 5-year term of supervised release.
The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica S. Terrill prosecuted the case for the United States.
