Robert Lee Taylor, a 44-year-old resident of Huntington, has entered a guilty plea for the charge of possession with intent to distribute heroin. During court proceedings, it was disclosed that on March 19, 2025, law enforcement officers conducted a consensual search of a residence in Huntington. This search led to the discovery of approximately 104 grams of heroin, three digital scales, and plastic bags intended for packaging the narcotic, all located in a storage tote on the back deck of the residence. Taylor admitted possession of the heroin and his intention to distribute it.
As part of his plea, Taylor acknowledged selling approximately 7 grams of heroin to an informant for the amount of $491 on the day prior to the search. Additionally, during the execution of a search warrant at Taylor's residence on March 19, authorities seized approximately $8,661. Taylor admitted that this cash represented proceeds from heroin distribution.
The sentencing for Taylor is set for August 11, 2025. He could face up to 20 years imprisonment, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.
