New Orleans man pleads guilty to bank robbery, sentencing set for July

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced that Juan K. Simpson, a 30-year-old resident of New Orleans, has pled guilty to bank robbery. The plea relates to a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113(a). Juan K. Simpson is scheduled for sentencing on July 8, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Darrel James Papillion.

Simpson could face a maximum of 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, up to three years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.

Court documents indicate that on November 25, 2024, Simpson robbed a Capital One Bank in New Orleans.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation of this case. Handling the prosecution is Assistant United States Attorney Mary Katherine Kaufman of the General Crimes Unit.
