A Honduran national living in Woburn, Massachusetts, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Boston on charges related to his unauthorized reentry into the United States following deportation. Saul Arce, aged 38, faces one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien and was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on March 20, 2025.

According to the charging document, Arce was deported from the U.S. on May 15, 2013. It is alleged that he reentered the country without permission after this deportation. The charge against Arce carries a potential sentence of up to two years in prison, along with one year of supervised release and a maximum fine of $250,000. Furthermore, Arce will be subject to deportation after serving any imposed sentence. Sentences are determined by a federal district court judge following the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes governing sentencing in criminal matters.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. Allegra Flamm, an Assistant U.S. Attorney from the Major Crimes Unit, is prosecuting the case.

"The details contained in the charging documents are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law," reiterated the announcement.
