New York Attorney General Letitia James has announced that former delivery workers who operated for liquor stores using Drizly, an alcohol delivery service now owned by Uber, can now file claims to reclaim withheld tips from a $4 million settlement. The settlement, announced last year, was reached after Drizly failed to ensure workers received their earned tips for deliveries made through the platform. Workers eligible for claims are encouraged to submit them by July 15, 2025.
"Delivery workers are essential to our communities and deserve to be compensated fairly," Attorney General James asserted. "I was proud to secure this settlement to ensure that those who were shortchanged by Drizly’s practices would receive the tips they rightfully earned. I urge all eligible workers to file their claims and get the money that they are owed."
The restitution was secured after an investigation by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) revealed that Drizly misled customers into believing that tips they left would directly benefit the delivery workers, while in reality, the tips were distributed to store owners instead. This agreement will now compensate eligible delivery workers who completed deliveries between January 1, 2018, and August 31, 2023. Simpluris has been appointed to manage the payouts from this fund, with claims processed through the website www.NYDrizlySettlement.com.
The OAG and Drizly identified a list of former delivery workers eligible to receive settlement funds, and these individuals have started receiving notifications via mail, email, and text since April 7, 2025. Those who think they qualify but have not received a notification are also encouraged to file online.
Attorney General James cautions delivery workers about possible scams asking for personal information under the guise of offering help with claim filing. Inquiries should be directed to Simpluris through official channels:
