St. Louis man pleads guilty to bank robbery and attempted robbery in 2024

A St. Louis resident has admitted to committing a bank robbery in 2024 and attempting another robbery at the same location three months later. Isaac Perry, 39, pleaded guilty in a U.S. District Court to one count of bank robbery and one count of attempted bank robbery.

On June 25, 2024, Perry went into a bank on Loughborough Avenue in south St. Louis. He gave a note to a bank employee that stated, “I nee[d] you to hand over 10,000 in cash if not it aint gone end good please,” with a red heart drawn around the word “please.” He managed to leave the bank with approximately $340.

Perry returned to the same bank on October 3, 2024, and once again handed a note to a bank employee. This time, the note said, “This is a stick up I need you to give me 6,000 dollars in all hundreds in make it quick,” with another heart drawn on it. The bank employee informed Perry that she had set off an alarm and that police were en route. Perry fled the bank but was later identified in released photos of the robbery.

Perry is due to be sentenced on July 29. Each count comes with a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nichole Frankenberg is prosecuting the case.

This investigation is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), focusing on reducing violent crime and gun violence. Initiatives under PSN include fostering community trust, supporting prevention-focused community organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and evaluating outcomes.
