Holland & Knight welcomes William "Bill" Brady as partner in the Firm's Litigation Practice Group in Boston. Most recently, Mr. Brady was an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) in the District of Massachusetts.

During his six-year tenure at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. Brady prosecuted white collar cases as a member of the Health Care Fraud Unit. In this role, he was instrumental in successfully prosecuting the management consulting firm linked to the pharmaceutical company at the center of the opioid crisis, setting new accountability standards for the consulting industry. Mr. Brady also investigated and prosecuted cases involving healthcare fraud by companies and individuals, violations of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, tampering, wire fraud, tax crimes and money laundering.

In addition to complex white collar investigations and jury trials involving various sectors of the healthcare industry, Mr. Brady has also worked closely with colleagues in the U.S. Attorney's Office's Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit, including on investigations arising out of qui tam (whistleblower) complaints, and he has a deep knowledge of the civil side of healthcare fraud enforcement, including the False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, he was a partner with Goodwin Procter.

At Holland & Knight, Mr. Brady will focus his practice on healthcare fraud and government investigations, as well as complex litigation matters, including those associated with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), cybersecurity and corporate governance disputes.

"Bill brings with him a combination of top-tier private practice experience and high-impact government service," said Jeremy Sternberg, practice group leader of the Firm's Boston Litigation Practice Group. "His work on some of the most significant healthcare and white collar matters in recent years will be a tremendous asset to our clients. He is a well-respected player in his field who will further solidify Holland & Knight as a market leader in the healthcare government enforcement and litigation space."

"After several years in public service, I'm excited to return to private practice and advocate for clients in high-stakes, complex matters," said Mr. Brady. "Holland & Knight's expansive healthcare practice, which is home to several exceptional litigators, including former U.S. Attorneys and AUSAs, provides an ideal environment for me to use my skills and experience to get results for clients."

Mr. Brady earned a J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law and a B.S. degree from Georgetown University. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and New York.
