Yesterday in Lansing, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that Jordan Wagner, 31, formerly of Dearborn Heights and most recently living in Guam, will face trial in the 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County. Wagner is charged with one count of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and three counts of Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. Wagner was extradited from Guam to Wayne County in September 2024 as part of Operation Survivor Justice.
The charges stem from allegations that Wagner sexually assaulted a pre-teen relative during a brief visit to her home in 2012. The victim reported the incident eight years later, in 2020, leading to Wagner's indictment on four felony counts by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in December of that year. While residing in Guam, Wagner’s extradition was initially deemed too costly for local agencies.
Operation Survivor Justice, funded by a $1 million state appropriation, enabled Wagner’s extradition. The initiative is a collaboration between the Michigan Department of Attorney General, local county prosecutors, and the U.S. Marshals Service, aimed at locating and returning to Michigan fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants.
"Cold case sex-assault cases that are left unsolved leave survivors without closure and perpetrators without accountability," Nessel stated. "I am pleased to see another case proceed through the judicial system as part of Operation Survivor Justice."
Wagner's next court appearance is scheduled for April 23 in the 3rd Circuit Court.
It is important to note that a criminal charge is merely an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The department does not provide booking photos.
