A Dominican national has pled guilty to illegally reentering the United States after being previously deported. Florencio Antonio Nuñez Guerrero, 39, entered his guilty plea in Boston's federal court to a charge of unlawful reentry of a deported alien. U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs has set the sentencing for July 8, 2025.
Nuñez Guerrero was previously deported on March 3, 2017, after serving a federal sentence related to drug charges. According to court documents, he reentered the country without permission sometime after his deportation.
The charge of unlawful reentry could result in a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and a maximum fine of $250,000. Nuñez Guerrero is also subject to deportation at the conclusion of his sentence. Federal district court judges determine sentences based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.
The case was announced by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley, alongside Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sandra Gonzalez Sanchez from the Major Crimes Unit.
