A North Texas resident, Robert Wilson King, 35, has been charged in federal court for threatening violence against ICE agents. The announcement came from Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Chad E. Meacham.

King was formally charged on April 3, 2025, with transmitting an interstate threat. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Renée Harris Toliver and was detained pending a detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.

The complaint against King stems from his alleged social media posts on March 29, 2025. In one post, King reportedly stated, “If I see ICE agents in my neighborhood I’m opening fire. It’s time to stop being p****** and put the second amendment to work. ICE are not real cops, they are a secret police force with no real legal authority. Kill them.” He allegedly reinforced his threat later on another platform.

Details in case no. 3:25-mj-00324 outline other instances of alleged violent rhetoric by King this year. However, it is important to note that a criminal complaint is an allegation and not proof of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty. If King is convicted, he faces up to five years in a federal prison.

Acting U.S. Attorney Meacham acknowledged the collaborative efforts of several agencies: the FBI’s Dallas Field Office, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Secret Service, along with support from the Texas Department of Safety, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the McKinney Police Department.

Prosecuting the case are Assistant U.S. Attorneys Douglas Brasher and Tiffany H. Eggers.

The public can report potential threats to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or via tips.fbi.gov.
