The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has opened applications for the 2025 Local Consumer Program, aiming to fund local initiatives that assist residents with various consumer issues. This initiative is part of the AGO's Local Consumer Aid Fund (LCAF) and partners with the Consumer Advocacy and Response Division to support local communities.
Grants will range from $40,000 to $125,000 for fiscal year 2026, covering July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Applicants must submit their proposals by 5:00 p.m. on April 30, 2025.
An informational session will take place on April 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. to guide applicants through the program and application process. Those interested are urged to attend and register online.
The program funds stem from consumer protection settlements, supporting local efforts to help consumers resolve business disputes. Services include advocacy, mediation, and consumer education. Over the past year, funded local programs have handled about 10,000 consumer complaints, recovering more than $3.7 million for consumers.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, local government entities like District Attorneys’ Offices and Mayor’s Offices, and colleges and universities interested in consumer programs.
