Matthew Quaglieri, a former teacher from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography, followed by 25 years of supervised release. His sentencing was delivered by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley, as announced by Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin. Quaglieri admitted to the charge in January 2025.
The case originated in October 2022 when law enforcement investigated a complaint that Quaglieri had been recording students using the urinals at a Sun Prairie middle school. A search of Quaglieri’s iPad revealed videos of at least 39 minors. Quaglieri confessed to recording boys in the school bathrooms over a period of four to five years.
Judge Conley condemned Quaglieri’s actions as "predatory and abhorrent," describing them as a serious breach of trust. He noted that nothing in Quaglieri’s statements during sentencing reflected any understanding of the gravity of his conduct.
The investigation was conducted by the Sun Prairie Police Department and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, with prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Louis Glinzak and Elizabeth Altman.
