Aron Williams, a resident of District Heights, Maryland, was sentenced for a violent assault on his romantic partner, as confirmed by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. and Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith. Williams, aged 33, admitted guilt to charges of assault with intent to kill. His plea was entered on January 27, 2025, before Judge Jason Park in D.C. Superior Court.

The court handed down a sentence of ten years in prison, with an additional three years of supervised release. This verdict followed an incident on February 23, 2024, in which Williams attacked his partner during an argument. The altercation escalated, resulting in Williams strangling the victim and then using a hunting knife to inflict ten stab wounds on her arms, legs, mouth, and wrist. The injuries were severe, with significant bleeding and a nearly severed lip. The victim required emergency medical treatment, including surgery and stitches.

U.S. Attorney Martin and Chief Smith expressed their gratitude to the Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for their diligent investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Callie Hyde, from the Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Section, successfully prosecuted the case.
