Salvador Ochoa-Cuevas, a 44-year-old from Jalisco, Mexico, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. The sentencing took place in Omaha, Nebraska, where United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher delivered the sentence. The acting United States Attorney, Matthew R. Molsen, announced the decision on April 2, 2025. Ochoa-Cuevas will be deported to Mexico after completing his sentence, as he is not a U.S. citizen.

The case dates back to March 26, 2021, when a confidential source collaborated with law enforcement to negotiate a methamphetamine purchase with Ochoa-Cuevas. The transaction was arranged by phone, and both parties agreed to meet at Highland Park, located at 25th and C streets in Omaha. During the meeting, the confidential source, monitored with audio and video devices, received 388 grams of methamphetamine from Ochoa-Cuevas in exchange for $4,000. The transaction was recorded on the device.

This investigation involved efforts by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Omaha Police Department. The successful capture and sentencing of Ochoa-Cuevas marks the culmination of their joint operation.
