A Mexican national, Fredi Rios-Nolasco, 34, residing in Hudson, Massachusetts, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation. The charges follow an earlier criminal complaint filed on March 18, 2025.

Rios-Nolasco became subject to immigration action when authorities lodged a detainer against him on March 6, 2025. This was after he was arrested and charged in Marlborough District Court for trafficking cocaine. During the arrest, authorities matched his fingerprints with biometrics from prior removals, leading to the current charge.

The charge for unlawful reentry of a deported alien includes a possible sentence of up to two years in prison, a year of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Additionally, the defendant faces deportation after any sentence is served. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge according to U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke A. Goldworm from the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.

The indictment details are allegations. Rios-Nolasco is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
