A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin has indicted a Madison resident for distributing methamphetamine. Rumont Kirkpatrick, aged 47, has been charged with the distribution of 500 grams or more of methamphetamine on January 9, 2024.

The indictment serves as a formal accusation, and Kirkpatrick is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If convicted, he could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison.

The charge is the result of a collaborative investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, and the United States Postal Inspection Service. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Chad Elgersma and Louis Glinzak.
