A man involved in the distribution of controlled substances has been sentenced to 87 months in federal prison. Shawn Javier Lopez-Johnson, 29, from Phoenix, Arizona, had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance on November 1, 2024.

Authorities reported that between March 2023 and December 2023, Lopez-Johnson mailed various narcotics, including fentanyl powder, fentanyl pills, and methamphetamine, from Arizona to Dubuque, Iowa. These substances were sent to his co-conspirator, Alexander John Chapman, who has already been sentenced for his involvement.

Throughout this period, Lopez-Johnson's illicit mail shipments totaled approximately $5,400 worth of drugs intended for redistribution. The case highlights the legal consequences faced by those involved in drug distribution networks.
