Anthony Evans, a 28-year-old inmate at the Federal Correction Institution Allenwood in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for possessing a weapon. Chief United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann handed down the sentence, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced.
Details from Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus reveal that on July 15, 2024, Evans was found in possession of a weapon known as a "shank." This weapon, made from a piece of metal sharpened to a point with a cloth handle, measured six inches in length. It was discovered by a correctional officer during a search of Evans.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons Special Investigative Service. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tatum Wilson.
