A Caldwell County, Kentucky man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for a series of child pornography offenses. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, alongside Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud of the Homeland Security Investigations Nashville, and Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr. of the Kentucky State Police.

Court documents reveal that William Guill, aged 50, will serve 25 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release. Guill faced charges including four counts of sexual exploitation of children, distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography, and transfer of obscene material to a minor. The charges detail how Guill recorded himself in sexual acts with two minor girls, distributed child abuse material via a social media app, and sent nude images of himself to one of the minors.

In addition to the prison sentence, Guill has been ordered to pay $6,000 in restitution to his victims. It is important to note that there is no provision for parole in the federal prison system.

The investigation into this case was conducted by the Homeland Security Investigations and the Kentucky State Police. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney A. Spencer McKiness.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to use federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and rescue victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood and internet safety education can be found at the Department of Justice's website.
