Students from North Star High School in Cando, under the guidance of Mr. James Greenlee, visited the state supreme court on Tuesday, April 1st. The visit began with an educational session involving two law clerks, who provided insights into the progression of a case from district court to the supreme court in North Dakota, as well as the election and tenure of supreme court justices. Students also had the opportunity to observe an oral argument.
The clerks, Taylor Schmidt and Gabrielle Frawley, illustrated the appeal process by discussing a fictional case, helping the students to gain a clearer understanding of the judicial system in North Dakota.
