Fox Rothschild congratulates Joshua Kopelowitz on his selection to the 2025 Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys list by Crain’s New York.
The list features 84 honorees who are setting precedent, advocating for clients across industries, and engaging in pro bono and industry associations.
With over two decades of litigation experience, Kopelowitz helps businesses and individuals resolve high-stakes commercial disputes. Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Litigation Group, he represents clients in bet-the-company litigation including multimillion-dollar contract disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, partnership and ownership battles and corporate dissolutions, in addition to disputes over investments and the operation and use of real estate.
Crain’s New York cited one of his “biggest career wins” in which he represented Vorando Realty Trust in a suit filed against a tenant for $1.1 million owed in back rent for its office space in a prominent building across from Madison Square Garden. At trial, he and his team were successful in establishing the client’s damages and secured a judgment of nearly $4.9 million.
One of his “most significant cases” was also highlighted where he successfully represented 71 Washington Place Owners, Inc. in five litigations involving an unruly cooperative-shareholder-tenant. He was successful in evicting the tenant and securing a judgment for rental arrears and the co-op’s legal fees.
Kopelowitz serves as Deputy Mayor and Trustee of the Incorporated Village of Roslyn Harbor, NY. He is also a member of the New York County Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
