The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced the sentencing of Walter Sitosky, a 67-year-old resident of Houtzdale, Pennsylvania. Sitosky received a 10-year prison sentence followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to charges related to the attempted enticement of a minor.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Sitosky had arranged to pay for sexual services from a 13-year-old child. His arrest occurred during an undercover operation when he traveled to Centre County on November 10, 2023, intending to meet the minor.
The investigation was conducted by several law enforcement agencies including the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, Patton Township Police, Centre County District Attorney’s Office, Williamsport Police, and Lycoming County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan V. Martin is handling the prosecution.
This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project coordinates federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute individuals who exploit children and assist in rescuing victims.
