A former middle school teacher from Louisville, Kentucky, has been sentenced to 19 years and 7 months in federal prison for child pornography offenses. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky and Special Agent in Charge Michael E. Stansbury of the FBI Louisville Field Office.

“I commend the FBI’s outstanding work during the investigation of this case and that of AUSA McKiness for his tireless effort in prosecuting it,” stated U.S. Attorney Bennett. “Combatting the sexual exploitation of our children is a priority of this office and working with our law enforcement partners we will continue to identify, arrest, and aggressively prosecute those who victimize our most vulnerable citizens.”

Special Agent Stansbury added, “Jordan Fautz chose to abuse his position of trust by egregiously violating the privacy of innocent children. His sentencing marks a critical step in our efforts to combat the exploitation of children.”

Court documents reveal that Jordan Fautz, aged 40, received his sentence for multiple charges including distribution and production of child pornography. He used an online chatting application to distribute child sexual abuse material to an undercover officer and created manipulated images depicting minors engaged in explicit conduct.

Fautz has also been ordered to pay $28,130 in restitution to victims. Following his prison term, he will be under supervised release for 30 years.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney A. Spencer McKiness prosecuting the case.

This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide.
