A man from Topsham, Maine, Christopher Tucker, has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Portland to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a stolen firearm.

Court records indicate that the incident occurred in May 2024 when Brunswick Police Department officers responded to reports of suspicious activity at a local residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered an open garage door with pried-open cabinets and ammunition scattered on the floor. The homeowner reported multiple firearms missing from the locked cabinets.

Officers found a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses. Tucker, 34, was identified as the owner and sole occupant of the vehicle. He attempted to flee on foot but was subsequently apprehended. Inside his vehicle, officers recovered 20 firearms. Due to previous felony convictions, Tucker was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Tucker could face up to 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. This may be followed by up to three years of supervised release. His sentencing will occur after the U.S. Probation Office completes a presentence investigative report. A federal district court judge will determine his sentence based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) led the investigation with support from the Brunswick Police Department and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
