New Orleans man sentenced for major drug trafficking offenses

A New Orleans man, Terence Wilson, 43, has been sentenced to 240 months in prison for drug-related offenses and firearm possession. Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced the sentence on March 12, 2025. Wilson was found guilty of conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute significant quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin. He was also convicted of being a felon in possession of firearms. After serving his prison term, Wilson will be subject to five years of supervised release.

Court documents revealed that Wilson and a co-defendant were involved in distributing methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl in New Orleans from August 2022 to October 12, 2022. They conducted frequent transactions with drug customers in the Hollygrove area.

In September 2022, authorities identified a stash house on Encampment Street used by Wilson and his co-defendant. A search warrant executed on October 12, 2022, led to the seizure of over 534 grams of heroin and fentanyl, more than 120 grams of fentanyl alone, and 363 grams of methamphetamine. Law enforcement also confiscated two multicaliber pistols along with drug paraphernalia.

The prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal networks through a collaborative approach involving federal, state, and local agencies.

This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which seeks to reduce violent crime and gun violence by fostering community trust and supporting preventive measures.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration - New Orleans Division and Special Response Team, Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Response Team, New Orleans Police Department among others. Assistant United States Attorneys Rachal Cassagne and André Jones are leading the prosecution.
